Garden: Flowering Vine

201306011041.jpg

Every year at this time, somewhere in my yard, this happy pink flower appears at just above eye level. It is a beautiful surprise first thing in the day … a little WOW moment, that makes all my senses dance. It is the lowest point of a vine that is growing high in the trees overhead, and has just burst into flower.

As you look up along the branch, you can see the flowers that are flowering up the stem ….
And then up and up, more and more blossoms as it winds its way over the treetops far overhead.

I have no idea what kind of vine this is. It is. undoubtedly, a plant that is in the process of destroying trees in its own search for sunshine … but it is doing it in such a beautiful way, that i can’t begrudge her her spot in Nature.
This is my kind of gardening, where beautiful flowers just appear without preparation, planting or care!!
