Paca-Finds: Mother n’ Child

Purchases at the Mega-Paca fall into two categories … those that you go looking for specifically to fit a specific need, and those that you just see and know that it is perfect for something.

The acquisition of these two charming characters is a good example of both of these categories. I determined that I had a need, which was to find something to put on top of the printer that would look good in my home-office and fill the space so the cats couldn’t sleep and play there.

The moment I walked into the Mega-Paca the next week, I saw the Mother, and I knew she was perfect. I walked directly to her, and discovered that her price was only Q30 ($4)! I brought her home and she fit right in immediately! However, it felt like she was not complete.

The very next week, I found Child. I wasn’t looking for her … I was just walking down an aisle full of stuffed toys, and she practically leaped out at me!! (And furthermore her cost was only Q2 or 25 cents!!).

Mother and Child now work together to keep the cats from sleeping and playing on top of the printer. They get moved around regularly, depending on how they are feeling for the day.

And just recently, Child received a bell from the Arlene Haddon Corbitt bell collection, that she wears proudly in honour of this intelligent, witty, far-seeing woman of love and compassion.
