Jouissance?

What is “jouissance”?? And how do you pronounce it?

I had never heard of this word until recently …  I found it when I was researching synonyms for “joy”, and its definition according to google is:

jouissance |ZHwēˈsäNs| noun

physical or intellectual pleasure, delight, or ecstasy.

This blog is a reincarnation of Rainforest Recipes but with so much more. It will continue to cover the creation and/or consumption of great foods here in the jungle, as well as just about anything else that adds “juice” and “joy” to life in a small jungle village.

You can expect to read articles about:

• food … great meals, great recipes, jungle fruits and vegetables
• my experimentation with gardening and vermiculture (which I guess is also part of creating foods)
• living with pets in the jungle
• home improvement projects and or decorating, or how to make a thatch-roofed house into a home
• thrift store bargains or “great Paca Finds”in the local vernacular (the second hand goods are shipped here in huge packs which are locally called “pacas”)
• the wildlife that I have the pleasure to encounter
• artistic pursuits, like my current passion for creating art on my nails
• anything else that brings joy and “juice” to life in a small jungle village
